Two Weeks Post-transplant Update

2 week update

It’s been 2 weeks since my kidney transplant. Here’s a nice long video in which I ramble on and on about whatever pops into my head. Enjoy!

XOXO,Β  Ashley

  1. Oh precious, sweet Ashley. I love you so much! Wish I was close enough to come clean house, or snuggle kiddos while you rest & recover. Sooo exciting to see how the Lord has undertaken and provided for you in your journey toward wellness. So very thankful for how well the surgery went for both you & Kelsy, and for the way the new kidney is responding so far. Praying for continued healing without complications.
Please know how much we love you and are praying for you, Chris & the kids as you recover. You are beautiful Ashley, and brave, and I so appreciate your transparency throughout the journey. Hang in there girl. Sending love & hugs from Dallas.

  2. Hey girl. Love your videos. It’s so good to see you and hear your voice. My kids keep asking about you so I will give them this update. I’ll continue praying for your recovery and adjustment, for Chris and the kids, and so grateful for Kelsey. xoxo

  3. What a truly transparent view of your day to day life after transplant. What a blessing it is to sit “outside the forest” and see the trees that God has arranged around you for a time such as this. Your loving , dedicated, Godly husband. Friends and family that love and support you. I cry with you as your true humbleness is palpable in this video. You are an inspiration and watching God’s story unfold in another’s life is a gift to many. You are in a season of rest but yet, still planting seeds of hope and showing God’s grace to others. I read a poem about rest…and the first stanza really spoke to me to share it with you. Here it is in it’s entirety :
    True Rest

    Rest is not quitting
    The busy career;
    Rest is the fitting
    Of self to one’s sphere.

    ‘Tis the brook’s motion
    Clear without strife,
    Fleeting the ocean,
    After this life.

    ‘Tis loving and serving,
    The highest and best,
    ‘Tis onward, uswerving,
    And this is true rest.

    Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Rest on friend. My prayers for you are a quieting of your mind, to accept the moment and to be a master of inactivity! πŸ™‚

  4. Hang in there Ashley. You’re a strong woman. Take one day at a time and you’ll be amazed in a few months that you’ll probably feel so much better. ❀️
